Oh the days of summer

Hello all, I hope your summer is going as well as ours.  The Benton Family has been very busy but we are trying to enjoy every free minute we get with our children.  This past week, I was able to take a few days off to spend with my kiddos.  We had a great time.

He is Evan and myself.  He is so precious and I am loving my new hair color, courtesy of Rhianna's House of Hair.

Luke loves to work and I hope he continues to be a hard worker.  Here he is helping his Pa work at the saw-mill.

I got to get some more sun and the boys were able to enjoy their pool.  I know it is redneck but we also created some shade.  These poor boys are so fair skinned that even with sun-screen, they still burn.  For this day, we were able to stay out for a longer period of time which meant a better tan for me, longer naps for boys, and more fun by all.

Evan is starting to look more like his big brother every day.

Luke wanted me to take a picture while he was running down the hall but this is the only one that you could actually see his precious face.

We purchased DVD players for the car, again!  These boys are giving me a whole lot more quiet time now.  Praise The Lord for DVD players.

As everyone that reads my blog knows, I am still dieting. Let me tell you that this Ice Cream may indicate that it is Two Much Fun but for me it was torture.  I resisted but certainly wanted some.  I am currently up to a weight loss of 16.6 lbs.  My next goal is 20 lbs and then I get to have a girls night and eat mini tacos.  Can't hardly wait!!

Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow and his brother!

Dylan and Tim Tebow!

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a huge football fan.  I love all things SEC and football.  I also love God more than anything else.  For all the above reasons, I completely adore Tim Tebow.  I have always believe that God has big plans for that man and a great work would be done through him.  It is awesome to know that someone with such influence has a heart for God and is willing to use his influence to Glorify God. I have always hoped that someday I might have a chance to meet him.  So, when my BFF called me on Friday to ask if I wanted to go meet Tim Tebow I just about passed out.  Her son, Dylan's therapist attends church where Tim was set to speak that night.  During the daytime, Tim was going around at the football camp being held at the church.  Tebow and his brother were kind enough to come over, meet and take photos with Dylan.  While I didn't exactly get to meet or talk to Tebow, I did get to see him in person and watch him minister to numerous teenager as he made his way around.  This will mark one of the coolest experiences in my life!!

Tim Tebow asking Dylan if he was a Razorback fan and then saying he wouldn't hold it against him.

Tim Tebow commenting on Dylan's Patriot shirt that said Tom Brady.  LOL!

Ethan's Birthday

I can't believe my nephew is 8 years old. It seems just like yesterday, I was carrying him through Walmart as he continued to get sick all over me.  You are a precious child and I am so proud of you.  Aunt Gwen hopes that you continue to gain knowledge and live for God.  It is my hope that my boys grow up to be more like you.

Luke and Ethan having a good time at the party.

Evan sure loves him some cake.  It was very hard to resist that cake but I managed.

4th of July

This fourth was so wonderful.  The temperatures have been great and I haven't even broke a sweat.  On the 3rd, we headed over to Grandma and pa's house to celebrate uncle T's birthday and watch the Flippin fireworks.

Pa bought several fireworks for the boys and they had so much fun.

Luke kept rolling around on the ground and despite me spraying him with bug spray, he has bites everywhere.  Please pray that they don't get infected.

Evan loved the fireworks also.

On the 4th, we had a big family day.  I cleaned all morning so I could hopefully send the rest of the break relaxing.  We set out steaks and Jeff used out fire pit to cook them.  They were so wonderful!

Jeff and Luke ran to town an came back with a few fireworks for the house.  Luke loves the "popper" fireworks so much.

Before we put the steaks on, this dark cloud came over head and I got a bit nervous but everything worked out fine.

I created a dessert that I could eat that taste amazing.  Here it is:

1 block cream cheese
1 8oz of cool whip
1 large spoon of great value peanut butter
4 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa
7 packets of spenda

Mix all together by beating on medium speed for 2 minutes.  Put in pie dish and freeze( after freezing, I think I should have just refrigerated).  Net carbs is like 7.

Of course the sparklers are the boys favorite.

Even Evan loved them.

Then we had s'mores.  Well, everyone but me!

Luke really love them and makes a huge mess with them.

Evan prefers just to eat the chocolate all by it's self!

Hope you all had a great 4th also.  God bless you all and especially those who fight so hard for our freedom.
