Crazy around the House

We have been so busy around our house.  It seems like every time we get laundry caught up, dishes take over, and so on.  Tonight, my mission is to hang all the clean laundry and start washing some dirty laundry.  Tomorrow, I will try to tackle floors.  I have also started running again which is fun but has really taken a great deal of juggling to get it in.  I am really looking forward to the time change because I always feel like I get more accomplished.

I saw this posted the other day and it made me laugh.  Jeff and I are always tripping on or stepping on toys in the dark.  There have been many times that I was sure one or both of us had broken our toes.  This little note just put it all into perspective.  We really don't have anyone to blame but ourselves, LOL!

I also saw this cute little sign.  I would love to hang this in my bedroom but Jeff is not much on decor that has words.  Regardless, I think we too often say I love you out of habit but for me, this sign is so true about how I feel about my husband and children.  I am pretty sure that I could never tell them I love them enough and I hope that when I leave this Earth, there will be no question as to whether or not I did.

Another Snow

Well this month has brought with it a few more snow days.  We have been running out of things to do in our house and we are officially sick of being stuck in this place.

The boys have built towers (well at least Luke builds them and Evan ruins them).  This has caused many fights during the snow.  Oh how we love our brothers!

Luke took this picture and wanted me to send to his Uncle Dan.  He kept saying that this looks like his truck.  I swear that he doesn't forget a thing, well except to put his shoes where they belong, to hush when adults are talking and to not jump on the couch, LOL!

The boys had so much energy after two days in the house that if became necessary to do exercises to release some of that energy.  This blurry picture is their attempt at jumping jacks.  I would say Evan was quite impressive considering he was able to get both feet off the ground.

The boys practiced push-ups and Luke can do more than me and probably Jeff (don't tell him I said so, HA).

Evan decided it was more fun to watch his brother than actually do the exercises.  I love these boys so much but it is tough for them to stay cooped up in the house.  We are very excited about Spring and Summer.

Warmer Temperatures have arrived

Well, when I say warmer temperatures have arrived, I really mean warmer than 0 degrees.  The weather has been crazy because it will be somewhat warm one day and freezing the next.  The wind has also been about to blow me away!  Regardless, we have been trying to spend as much time as possible outside.  Luke and Jeff were busy working a few weekends ago so Evan and I played outside.

We played some tee-ball and Evan is starting to get the hang of hitting the ball (he seems to be much more interested in football and basketball).

Then, Evan decided to do some work.  He drove his tractor around and found places he could successfully dig holes in.

He loaded all his tools in his trailer by himself and really got busy.

I love that my boys enjoy working, I am sure that when they are older they will beg to get to sleep in.

Every time he was able to get a little dirt, he held his bucket up so proud to show me.

I tried to get Evan to take a picture with me but this was as good as I could do.  We are just so thankful for Sun-shiny days.

Dancing in the kitchen

I love my family of four.  We have such an amazing time together.  I wouldn't dare post video or pictures but just last night we all were in the kitchen while I was cooking, listening to music.  We were jumping around and dancing.  I know the boys were having a blast.  This was one of those times that I never want to forget.  I can still remember listening to music and dancing around the living room with my mom.  This is just one of the little joys in life.  Okay, now that you all are laughing, maybe you need to try it out and see how much fun it is to just goof around!

Low Carb Peanut Butter Cookie-Oh MY AMAZING

I I love peanut butter cookies so when I found this recipe, I had to give it a try.  They are so good that I had to share.

First, you will need the below ingredients:

You simply mix the following amounts together:
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 cups of peanut butter
1 1/2 cups Splenda

Mix until it becomes dough like.  Preheat oven to 350.

Then roll into small 1 inch balls.  Use a fork to press down.  Then bake for 12-14 minutes.

Let cool for 10 minutes and then enjoy the yummy goodness!

A New Year, A New Beginning

Well so begins another year.  As I look back on the last year life was entirely too busy.  As I look forward to a new year, I have made some goals for myself:

1) Slow down and enjoy all the blessings we have been given.  In order to do this, I will need to spend my time more wisely.  This is also going to require me to work from 8-5 and not on the weekends.  I have a second "job" called life so I need to preform well for this second job too.

2) Continue on my weight loss journey.  I reached my goal but of course after taking a break to enjoy the holidays, I gained some of the weight back.  I also think I would like to drop just a few extra pounds once I get those off.  So my goal is to drop 11 pounds.

3) I plan to read my Bible daily.  Every year, I say I want to read my Bible all the way through and it never happens.  So now, I have made it a priority and set a time each day for this to occur.

4) I also want to run at least 3 times a week and work my way up to running for 40 minutes straight.  I love to run but life steps in and I get to busy with other things.  This year my health needs to be important.

5) Limit my time on Facebook (I know if my husband reads this that he will die laughing).  I love facebook because it keeps me connected to prayer groups, classmates, friends, news, and sports but I spend too much time just looking at my phone.  I have always heard that the first step to beating an addiction is to admit you have a problem, HA!

6)  I really want to limit myself to two diet sodas a day.  I am not yet in the mindset to make this happen but it is certainly a goal.

7) Drink four bottles of water daily.  WOW!!!  I am not here yet either but it would be so good for my skin, health, and overall wellness.

8) Don't let other people take my joy.  This year I will laugh in the face of evil and not allow it to consume me.  (This one will take a great deal of pray because I always want everyone to be happy and to solve problems).

Okay, now for a few pictures just for fun:

I love my low-carb pizza and it is so easy to make:

Ingredients:

3 eggs
pepperoni
1/2 cup heavy cream
mozzarella cheese (as much as you want)
1/4 cup pizza sauce
garlic powder (just a sprinkle)
mushrooms

Directions:  Mix heavy cream, garlic powder, and eggs.  Pour into a casserole dish that has been greased.  Bake at 400 until the eggs appear to be cooked.  Take out of oven.  Then, top with pizza sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms (or any toppings you wish), and cheese.  Bake at 400 until cheese is melted.

Evan and I at Landon's birthday party.  The most amazing part of this picture is that my finger nails are painted and my hair is fixed!!

Jeff teaching Luke to shoot his gun.  I love when these boys get to have daddy time.

Luke practicing his roping skills.

Jeff showing Luke how it is done.

Finally, my bedroom is complete. Jeff put my canvas creations that I made all by myself up on the way.

Well I hope that 2014 brings you all great happiness and peace.  May God guide our steps as well as yours.

Luke is turning 5

Oh my where has the time gone?!  It honestly seems like yesterday that we were bringing this precious child into the world.  Luke you are awesome and so smart.  You can: count to 100 by 10's, say your abc's, count to 40, write your first and last name, use words that most 5 year olds have never even heard of, operate the sawmill, fix just about anything, make your own sandwiches, and so much more.

Your latest love is roping.  You would practice all day if we let you and you are getting really good.

You really didn't want a party this year but I wanted you to be able to celebrate with your classmates even if you weren't going to be in school around your birthday.

You decided that you wanted Denver Bronco cookies so of course we got you exactly what you wanted.

You loved them and were so excited that I was able to come out to school while you enjoyed them.

You and one of your friends enjoying your cookies.

You are growing into a little man and are so handsome.

You were so proud of your cookies!

You love to wear your cowboy hat and you are a true cowboy.

Here is a picture of you when you were 2ish.  You always had a serious look on your face and I love it.

You and Landon were brought into this world on the same day and continue to be best friends.  I love you guys!

Another picture of you when you were younger.  You don't fear anything (well except monsters, ha).

We took you to Colton's for your birthday and you wanted them to come and sing to you.  Once they did, you acted so shy.

You wouldn't eat your ice cream but Evan sure loved it.

We went over to Landon's house for his party and you got to celebrate there too.  We got you both scooters which you happen to love.

You got to blow out a candle and make a wish.

Here you are looking so big and oh my goodness you are FIVE!

Keymer family Christmas

Oh yes, the Keymer family morning of Christmas gathering.  Every year, we all get up and open gifts at our own homes and then head to my parent's house for breakfast and gift opening.

My mom always goes all out by making biscuits, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and gravy.

I always bring something sweet.  I made french toast casserole and here is how you can too:

You will need:
  • two cans of Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon (or like me just sprinkle on top however much my heart desires)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (once again, I put as much as I want)
  • 3/4 cup of maple syrup
Directions:
  • Cut rolls into 8 pieces each and plan in the bottom of a greased (i use spray) casserole dish.  Save the icing for later
  • Beat eggs, cream, and vanilla together  and pour mixture on top of cinnamon roll pieces.
  • Sprinkle on cinnamon
  • Pour on syrup and top with pecans
  • Bake at 400 for 25-30 minutes
  • Once golden brown, remove and let cool for 15 minutes
  • warm up icing slightly and then drizzle on top of dish.
  • Enjoy!

The oldest grand kids waiting patiently for gifts.   In my family dad hands out all the gifts and he typically does so slowly.

All of the grand kids being silly.

Luke was so excited that my parents got him a hog sign with his name on it.  My uncle makes these and you can find him on Facebook at Keymer Custom Creations.

I bought Granny Coleman some blank puzzles.  She loves puzzles but was very confused about these.  I then had each of the older kids color a puzzle and put them in baggies so that Granny would have personalized puzzles.

We never get family photos taken but we attempted to this day.  All of our eyes needed to be red-eye corrected (that is all but Luke who couldn't seem to keep his eyes open for the picture).

And here is the entire Keymer kids and grand kids. My how our family has grown but we have so much fun.

Christmas at home

Jeff came late to the Coleman family gathering because he was working on a huge surprise for the boys.

They were so excited when they got home and got to see their new beds.  They are now sharing a room which is interesting to say the least.  They love their beds and Evan is finally staying in his bed all night!

So many gifts for these boys.  They must have been really good or Spoiled rotten!

Santa brought Luke a B-B gun that was just his size.

We also got the boys a roping calf head.  They were so excited once they figured out what it was, HA!

Evan got a huge train set from Santa and has spent everyday since destroying it.

Evan also got Jake and the Neverland Pirate gear from us.

Unfortunately, we realized to late that Evan would have been satisfied with a box.

Evan's train put together.  It is so awesome.  I love waking up with these kids Christmas morning.  They are the most amazing blessings in my life.
