Community Outreach for Easter

Our church was so blessed to serve our community this past Easter.  We provided free food, games, bounce houses, and a egg hunt with 6,000 filled eggs.  But most importantly, we had Dr. Ron Herrod with us to lead a short devotion.

If I were to guess, I would say there was around 400-500 people in attendance.  The best part is that around 20 people came forward to accept Christ.

Many would argue that the church should not be supporting an egg hunt for Easter and that the real meaning of Easter is being lost.  I tend to argue the contrary, especially when Easter is all about the gift that Christ gave us by dying on the cross.  This event allowed us to give to our community and to share with them exactly what Easter is all about.

Look at the crowd of people who were intently listening to the message Dr. Ron Herrod was providing.

Our church members had an opportunity to mingle with those in the community and personally invite many to church.

Our precious nephews came from Harrison to enjoy the event.

Special thanks to all the volunteers that set up all the tents and worked all of the various booths.  It took several members to manage the craft area but I am sure the children had a blast.

There was a lot of food to serve and this is the area I always help with.  I love food, serving people and talking to people so it is perfect for me.  We are looking forward to many more events in the future and especially excited that we will have a new addition to our church that will allow us to better serve our community.
